$150 Million Dollar Verdict Against Chrysler
AMOUNT AWARDED: $150 Million
In April 2015, a New York state jury awarded $30 million for pain and suffering and $120 million for the wrongful death of a 4-year old, when the Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying the boy was rear-ended by a pick up truck. The attorneys for the boy’s family alleged that Chrysler was responsible for the boy’s death because of the Cherokee’s fuel tank was mounted in the “crush zone,” just 11 inches from the rear of the car. The Cherokee burst into flames when the impact ruptured the Cherokee’s fuel tank.f.
