In 2015 alone, 3,477 people were killed, and 391,000 were injured nationwide in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers. Those numbers are believed to represent a small portion of instances because police reports may not always document whether distraction was a factor in vehicle crashes for all incidents.
